The Untamed Youth

If you have never seen the Untamed Youth live then (as Mr. T says) I pity you, because you missed out on seeing one of the best bands ever to grace this big blue marble. This recording of them at Garageshock '97 will help give you an idea of their remarkable showmanship, but if they ever announce a reunion and you are within 12 hour plane rides distance you must find a way to be front row center.
By this time the band had all but broken up and was only doing festival appearances, due to most of the members relocating to various places away from their Missouri birth place. In fact one of the reasons for the shuffling of the line up on this night was due to Mace needing to hurry back to Wisconsin for a college final.
As always you need all of their records (even the ones that are out of print), & go see Deke when he comes to your town with his Eccophonics.

Great blog and thanks for the link to the Double Crown website! I look forward to checking back regularly to see what else you put up here. I just had a 2 day 10th anniversary festival for Double Crown in September and hoped to kinda recreate the whole Garage Shock vibe a bit, but with the 3-B shut it just wasn't the same. Dave Crider's new band, the DT's played, as did Johnny Bartlett's new band Barbary Coasters and also Girl Trouble. It was a blast though and I hope to do it again next year.
